Terms of Service
Celia — Gluten-Free, Food & Reaction Journal App
Last updated: 22 August 2026
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and looplib AB ("Celia", "we", "us"), a company based in Sweden. They apply when you use the Celia app or trycelia.com website.
These terms supplement the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement that applies to the app. If a mandatory Apple term or applicable consumer law conflicts with these terms, the mandatory term applies.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Celia. By using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
1. The service
Celia is a lifestyle and informational app for people who want help with gluten-free living, food logging, and digestive-symptom journaling. Depending on your chosen tracking focus and subscription, Celia may let you:
- scan product barcodes and ingredient labels and receive an analysis of ingredients that may contain gluten;
- log meals, ingredients, portions, gluten status, and broad FODMAP groups;
- record symptoms, symptom intensity, stress, sleep, and daily notes in a private journal stored on your device;
- view descriptive timing observations based on your own food and symptom journal;
- create a PDF copy of selected journal information;
- find restaurants and cafés with gluten-free options on a map; and
- receive AI-generated answers, meal-photo assistance, label analysis, and recipe ideas.
Features may vary by version, country, device, subscription status, and service availability.
2. Important health, food, and safety information
Celia is a lifestyle and informational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency assistance, or an individualized clinical diet plan.
Celia cannot diagnose or confirm coeliac disease, IBS, a food allergy, food intolerance, or any other medical condition. It cannot test food or guarantee that a product or meal is free from gluten, allergens, cross-contact, or a particular FODMAP group.
You should understand the following limitations:
- AI-generated content may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.
- Product information retrieved by barcode comes from Open Food Facts, a community-maintained database whose records may be incomplete or outdated.
- Ingredients, recipes, manufacturing methods, warnings, menus, and product formulations can change.
- A photograph or ingredient list may not show every ingredient, preparation method, serving size, or cross-contact risk.
- FODMAP tags in Celia represent broad groups that may be present in a meal. They are not a validated low- or high-FODMAP rating.
- FODMAP content and digestive response can depend on serving size, processing, preparation, combined intake, and individual tolerance.
- Food-and-symptom observations describe timing and co-occurrence in your own journal. They do not prove that a food caused, prevented, or treated a symptom.
- Stress, sleep, medication, illness, menstrual cycle, exercise, and other factors may affect symptoms and are not fully accounted for by Celia.
- Restaurant and venue information comes from third parties and may not reflect current menus, kitchen practices, or cross-contact controls.
Always check the current physical label and manufacturer guidance when food safety matters. Contact a restaurant directly about current ingredients and preparation practices. Do not rely on Celia alone to make medical, allergy, coeliac-safety, or major dietary decisions.
Consult a physician or appropriately qualified registered dietitian for medical advice, diagnosis, persistent or severe symptoms, or help starting or continuing a restrictive diet such as a low-FODMAP diet. Seek urgent medical help through the appropriate local service if you believe you have a medical emergency.
3. AI-generated content
Some Celia features use Google Gemini. AI output is provided for general informational assistance and may contain errors, fabricated details, unsuitable ingredients, or misunderstood images and questions.
You are responsible for reviewing AI output before using it. Celia does not warrant that AI content is accurate, complete, current, nutritionally appropriate, medically appropriate, safe for a particular condition, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Do not submit information to an AI feature that you do not want processed as described in the Privacy Policy. Your local journal is not automatically provided to the AI service. If you deliberately type health-related information or submit an image containing such information, it will be processed as part of that AI request.
4. Celia Pro subscription
Some features or higher usage allowances require an auto-renewing Celia Pro subscription.
- Price and billing period: shown in the app and App Store before purchase. Prices and available plans may vary by country.
- Payment: charged to your Apple ID through the App Store.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, subject to Apple's applicable subscription terms.
- Cancellation: manage or cancel the subscription through your device's Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting your Celia account or deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Restore: eligible purchases can be restored using the restore or subscription-management functionality available through Celia and Apple.
- Free trial or introductory offer: if offered, eligibility and duration are determined by Apple and displayed before purchase. Unless cancelled within the displayed period, an eligible trial or introductory offer converts to the applicable paid subscription. Any unused portion may be forfeited where Apple's terms provide.
- Refunds: Apple handles purchases and refund requests. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Subscription features are available only while Apple and RevenueCat report an active entitlement. Delays, outages, billing issues, or account changes may temporarily affect entitlement status.
5. Free access, usage limits, and fair use
Free features may have daily, lifetime, or feature-specific usage allowances. Celia Pro features may also have high safety or fair-use limits intended to prevent automated use, abuse, excessive costs, or disruption for other users.
Limits may differ by feature and may be adjusted as the service evolves. Where practical, the app will display a limit, paywall, or message when an allowance has been reached.
We may throttle or temporarily suspend requests that appear automated, abusive, fraudulent, unlawful, or materially disruptive.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for an unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- attempt to circumvent subscription controls, usage limits, security controls, or technical protections;
- scrape, automate, bulk-extract, resell, or redistribute service or map data except where applicable law or an open-data licence expressly permits it;
- interfere with, overload, probe, or compromise the app, servers, providers, or other users;
- reverse-engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use Celia or its outputs to build a competing dataset, model, or service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
7. Third-party services and information
Celia relies on third-party services and data sources, including:
- Open Food Facts for community-maintained product and ingredient data;
- Google Maps and Google Places for map, restaurant, and venue information;
- Google Gemini API for AI processing;
- Supabase for pseudonymous authentication, server functions, usage controls, and backend infrastructure;
- Apple for app distribution, device services, payments, subscription management, and optional backups; and
- RevenueCat for subscription-entitlement management.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy documentation and may change, become unavailable, or contain errors. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or content beyond what mandatory law requires.
Open Food Facts data remains subject to its applicable open licence. Google map and venue features may also be subject to Google's applicable terms.
8. Your content and local journal
You retain your rights in photos, journal entries, notes, and text you create.
Your food and symptom journal is stored locally and is not automatically uploaded to us. You are responsible for maintaining any device backup or journal export you want to keep. Removing the app or deleting local data may permanently remove the journal.
When you deliberately submit content to an online feature, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to transmit, process, resize, format, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the requested feature. This licence ends when the processing purpose and applicable retention period end.
We do not claim ownership of your content. Do not submit content that is unlawful or infringes another person's privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights.
9. Privacy
The Celia Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled and forms part of these terms. It includes information about the local journal, pseudonymous account, AI processing, location, subscriptions, providers, retention, deletion, and your rights.
10. Availability and changes
Celia is continuously developed. We may add, modify, replace, restrict, or remove features, integrations, free allowances, and subscription functionality. We may perform maintenance or suspend a feature for security, legal, technical, or provider-related reasons.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Where a paid feature is materially changed, your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, availability, safety, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI output, product data, food information, journal observations, or venue information;
- we are not responsible for decisions made solely in reliance on Celia where the app clearly advises independent verification or professional advice;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss caused by third-party service interruption; and
- our aggregate liability arising from the paid service is limited to the amount you paid for Celia during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing limits mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
12. Ending use, account deletion, and suspension
You may stop using Celia at any time. Profile → Delete Account requests deletion of your pseudonymous server account and removes Celia's local app data from the device. This action cannot be undone through Celia.
Deleting the account or app does not cancel an App Store subscription. You must cancel the subscription separately through Apple.
Apple, RevenueCat, Google, or another provider may retain transaction, security, or legal-compliance records under their own obligations even after Celia account deletion.
We may suspend access to online features when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or threat to the service. Where appropriate, we will limit the suspension to the affected feature or account.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Celia evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on trycelia.com reasonably in advance where required. The date at the top identifies the current version.
If a change requires your consent under applicable law, we will request it. Otherwise, continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
Disputes may be resolved by the competent Swedish courts unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Consumers in Sweden may also contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN) at arn.se.
We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve the issue.
